Are you looking to get into the games industry when you leave school? Or do you simply have a great game idea you want to share with the world?
Young Game Designers (YGD) is a BAFTA initiative for 10-18 year-olds, where just taking part opens up a world of creative opportunities and provides insights into making games. Enter the competition for a chance to win once-in-a-lifetime experiences with top game makers + industry professionals.
There are three categories for entering into YGD:
If you’re chosen as a finalist, you'll be invited to BAFTA 195 Piccadilly, our headquarters in London, for our annual BAFTA Young Game Designers Awards! You’ll get to meet leading games industry figures, get mentorship from professionals actively working in games and a host of other amazing prizes from the YGD partners.
For teachers or code club leaders who want to include game design in their teaching, afterschool club or code club, visit the resources section for lesson plans, worksheets + more.
Enter a pre-built working game prototype (for entrants with existing coding or game design skills).
Enter an original game idea (no coding skills needed).
Know an inspirational + hard-working teacher or code club leader? Nominate them for the YGD Mentor Award.
Awarded to a figure or organisation in the professional games industry that supports young game designers.
