Part visual novel, part strategy, part RPG; in H,X,Y and Z you decide the actions of an unnamed protagonist awaiting questioning in a holding cell in an unknown location.

A series of flashbacks show what sort of character you actually are, decided by the actions of the player. It starts with an “Unknown Organisation” threatening the protagonist and forcing them to gather sufficient funds, ridiculous for “my occupation” (unknown throughout). They can choose various criminal actions throughout to try and deal with several moral dilemmas throughout the story as your character rises to power and starts to have influence; such as managing bank heists (top down strategy, of course), choosing who to ally with and who to kill (H, X, Y, Z and Mr Purple, all with conflicting motives and ethics), where you rob (the classic old person dilemma), and much more. The story always ends with them being arrested and tried in court (the worst endings end up with them being shot in the cell, then and there). Which ending you get depends on your actions, how “morally clean” you are, and who you ally with to call to witness.

The game is specifically designed for the 3DS, meaning that it will almost exclusively be controlled with a touchscreen.

Not a single shot needs to be fired, if you "play your cards right".
