Gameplay:

The object of this game is to roll a roll of tape to the end of the level, combating enemies and maneuvering through tough terrain along the way. The gamer can choose to roll without layering down tape or roll whilst laying it down. The advantages of laying it down are that any enemy you encounter can be jumped over and can be squashed and stuck down to the ground. The disadvantages of this are that if you leave too much tape on the floor you can run out, and once you have run out of tape there is no protection for the empty roll; enemies can destroy you. Another disadvantage of laying tape too often is that a major aspect of the game is swinging off edges (in picture below) to bring yourself to new platforms or to swing away from enemies. If you jump over an enemy without sticking it to the ground there is a chance that it will grab and remove much of your tape.

At the beginning of a level you start with a pre-determined amount of tape, depending on the difficulty of the level. This means that you have to use your tape sparingly and save it for when it would be most useful. If you finish a level with large amounts of tape left you will get bonus points and chances to upgrade the thickness of your roll.

The Characters:

The main character in the game Scotch, is a roll of tape with a badass cowboy attitude. He's the Clint Eastwood of inanimate objects. Traveling across the wild West, he's being hunted down by the authorities for a wrongly accused crime. As well as sheriffs, Scotch needs to fight through the creatures of the west in order to reach his goal- his family in California.

Unique Selling Points:

Have you ever seen a game with an inanimate object as badass as this? Not many, we assume. This game is different from the rest of the market because it has inanimate objects as its cast.

The simple gameplay mechanic of rolling fits with the platform and ensures the best possible gaming experience. We have tried to stay away from the usual mindless violence and human characteristics making our game different from the rest.

Jurors' Comments:

"A highly original and fun concept, well focused and delivered with verve."
