Have you ever wanted to be in control of an entire city? With Pixelopolis, you can do just that.

Platform:

Smart phones (iPhone, android), iPod Touch

About the Game:

The game begins at the town hall, where Mayor Hewitt asks you to help revamp the town. In order to do this you need money that you earn through minigames within the game. These minigames will be accessed by exploring the city and tapping on certain places, these are either a citizen who requires a task performing, or an area where a task is required. As well as being rewarded with pix the player will earn XP points on completion of these minigames.

This XP will go towards the players overall level; as the player’s level increases more buildings and features become accessible to the player, allowing them to add further detail to their city. On rare occasions the player will be presented with a situation by Mayor Hewitt that will require them to play a minigame to resolve an issue.

The player, on completion of this minigame, will be rewarded one Pixquid. Once the player has earned enough pix or pixquids they will be able to purchase additional buildings that will increase the number of minigames they can play and draw more citizens to their city.

The Characters:

The main character of the game is the newly elected mayor, Mayor Hewitt. She is fed up with the run-down town, and wants to change it into a high-tech city of the future. However, she realises she can’t do this by herself, and so enlists the player to help her transform the city.

The characters in the game are all residents of the city. Some of them have lived there for many years, and are fed up with the dusty, derelict town and are beginning to leave. Some residents have only just moved there, excited by the mayor’s promise of a futuristic city.

Unique Selling Points:

We are a very motivated team and are incredibly passionate about this competition and about I.C.T itself. We are all A* DiDA (Diploma in Digital Applications) students and so are strongly considering a career in the I.T sector.

We all love working in teams and are very determined to succeed. We believe that our game takes advantage of a gap within the market and is different to anything currently available. We believe that our game will be attractive to people who are both serious and casual gamers.

Jurors' Comments:
